Is it Worth it to Finish the Expedition in ARC Raiders?
All that for a Rooster Hat.
The Trials or Expedition in ARC Raiders is a heavily debated topic ever since the start. The requirements to finish the Expedition are a massive time sink and arguably bland.
However, there are rewards for your efforts, but are the rewards really worth it? With the first window of the first Expedition closing in on December 17, it is time to make a decision. Should you finish the expedition or not?
Rewards for Finishing the Expedition in ARC Raiders

The Expedition has six stages where you must finish objectives such as acquiring specific materials, donating items, and waiting for 7 days to complete the Expedition. You can find the complete details of all the Expedition requirements here.
As for the rewards for completing the Expedition, you get the following:
Permanent Unlocks
- The Patchwork Raider outfit
- Scrappy Janitor Cap
- Expeditions Indicator icon
- Skill points (depending on Stash value)
- +12 Stash space
Temporary Buffs
- 10% repair buff
- 5% xp boost
- 6% more materials from Scrappy
For the specifics on the skill points reward, the number of skill points is directly based on your Raider’s stash value (items, including coins). For each one million Coins worth of value, you get an extra skill point for your next new Raider.
Now, are these rewards worth it?
Considering how long it takes to even get the materials for the Expedition, it isn’t worth it for those who don’t have that much time to play the game. This isn’t even considering the fact that your Workshop upgrades are also gone, which requires a whole lot of grinding again.
For those who have a lot of time, it can be worth it for the cosmetics alone, but the 5 million Coins to get the 5 additional skill points is just too much. The time it takes to farm 5,000,000 items worth of Coins may take somewhere around 40+ hours, depending on your strategy and skill.
The rewards just aren’t lucrative enough, so if you are the type to only have a few hours every week to play the game, you should skip the Expedition. If you can play upwards of 20-30 hours a week, which is still a lot, you still want to avoid the Expedition unless you are a completionist.
The Expedition will only be worth it for those who want to accept the challenge and enjoy the progress and resetting again.
