Is Dungeons of Hinterberg Playable on the Steam Deck?

Yes, Dungeons of Hinterberg is playable on the Steam Deck with a “Verified” tag from Valve.

While 60 FPS is a bit difficult to obtain consistently in the later areas, you can settle for around an average of 50 FPS with a few dips in the 40s by playing with the following settings.

  • Graphics Quality: Best Performance
  • Customise Graphic Settings:
    • Texture Resolution – Normal
    • Lock Framerate – Off

In addition to this, we recommend that you use the Steam Deck’s frame limiter and set the value to around 40 or 50, though you’ll arguably have a better experience at 40 FPS because the framerate will be more consistent. Apart from performance, everything else is exactly as it should be for the handheld experience. It has full controller support, and the text is easily readable at the handheld resolution.

Does Dungeons of Hinterberg Have Steam Cloud Support?

Yes, Dungeons of Hinterberg has Steam Cloud support which means you can easily pick up progress between devices, making it very continent to switch between PC and Steam Deck.

Overall, the performance while playing Dungeons of Hinterberg is decent but it could definitely be better. We hope that the developers plan on improving how it plays on the Steam Deck with future updates.

We’re glad to see the Steam Deck still getting continued support from not just Valve but developers that are ensuring that their titles not only run great but are fine-tuned for the handheld experience.
