Is Dragon’s Dogma 2 On PS4? – Answered

Older generations may be left in the dust.

With players going wild on its newly released character creator, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set on the road for a seemingly great release. But will this release also acknowledge those players from the previous-gen consoles such as the PS4?

Is Dragon’s Dogma 2 Available on PS4?

Unfortunately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will not be released for PS4. The game is skipping the console altogether and will only be available on its successor. The second title of the franchise can only be played on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC through the Steam store, and other still-relevant consoles such as the Nintendo Switch won’t have access to it at all.

This is to be expected as we’ve seen many games following this trend, with one of the most recent examples being Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. While the first entry of the new FFVII trilogy was initially exclusive to the PS4, the second title is nowhere to be seen in the console and the title has been released for different platforms, including the PS5 itself.

Similar to the first game, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will run natively at 30FPS instead of 60, but that doesn’t mean its graphics will suffer because of it. On the contrary, the game has been displaying nothing but stellar visuals from all the early screenshots to the latest trailers, and the Character Creator has only been another proof of that. In fact, having so incredibly detailed visuals is probably one of the reasons the game isn’t reaching out to older generations.

So if you’re looking to make your perfect creation in the game, it might be time to get a hardware update, be it for your console or your computer. And make sure to tell that to your friends too if you’re looking to use their pawns during your journey.
