Choose the Right Brawler

Brawlers are a major part of the gameplay formula in Brawl Stars, and Showdown is no different. In fact, some would even argue that the choice of your brawler is even more important in Showdown, as you need every advantage you can get to take down your enemies. There are some great brawlers out there for Showdown, though some of them might take you a bit to unlock.

If you’re struggling to find a good brawler for Showdown, then allow us to point you in the right direction. Both El Primo and Bull are great choices as they both offer great health pools as well as some good power-up combinations and abilities. On top of this, they are both great brawlers overall due to their attack speed, so if you’re looking for characters that you can easily 1 v 1 others with, then both of these are a good place to start.

Use the Terrain to Your Advantage

Terrain is a massive part of the playing field in Brawl Stars, and just like you would in the normal MOBA-like modes, you should always use it to your advantage. Taking cover behind rocks, or even heading into tall grass to lose line of sight can all be great ways to ensure you stay alive longer. You’ll also want to make sure you’re aware of enemy positions and possible ambush locations while playing Showdown, though, as your enemies will be able to make use of the same advantages that you can.

Use the Poison Against Your Enemy

In our Brawl Stars beginner tips, we mention using cornering, a technique where you and a teammate paint an enemy into a corner to take them out. While you won’t be running with teammates, you can use a variation of cornering to take down your enemies using the poison cloud. As you play the match, the poison cloud will continually shrink, making the player area smaller and smaller. Use this to your advantage and cut off enemy advancements. This will place them with the poison against their backs, giving you the full advantage as they have to progress towards you to stay alive.

Power-Ups Change the Game

While you won’t be looting armor and weapons in Showdown, you will be able to get your hands on some nifty little power-ups that can really change the game quite a bit. Keep an eye open for these items as you play, and make sure you are utilizing them to ensure you have all the additional abilities that you need to survive and be the last brawler standing. On top of making use of them, you can also wait for others to make a move towards them, giving you a chance to launch a sneak attack and get off some nice shots before they know what hit them.

Keep these things in mind, and you shouldn’t have too hard of a time getting the hang of how Showdown works in Brawl Stars. Remember that practice makes perfect and keep diving back in to try your hand at being the sole survivor once more.
