Satisfactory has a bevy of alien wildlife creatures roaming around the planet. Some of them are harmless, but some of them are downright scary. Of course, we are talking about those creepy Stingers, the spider-like crawlers that stalk you in caves and around your base. If these creatures make your skin crawl as you play, you can transform them into something a bit more pleasant with Satisfactory’s Arachnophobia mode, and here’s how to turn it on.
How to Turn On Arachnophobia Mode in Satisfactory
Turning on Arachnophobia mode is easy. Open the main menu while in a game, go to options, and look for the gameplay tab. Under the gameplay settings, you’ll see another category called “general.” Scroll down through the general settings until you find Arachnophobia mode. Tick the box, and don’t forget to select “Apply” to confirm the changes.
Note: The spider-looking creatures are called “Stingers” in the game.
What Does Arachnophobia Mode Do in Satisfactory?
Once Arachnophobia mode is turned on, every time you see the spiders, you’ll see a .png of a kitty replace their whole bodies. Since it is just an inserted .png file of a cat, it’ll look awkward at first, as 2D images will be sliding toward you.
Some people might find it lazy, but it is the funniest thing ever. Going down inside the caves near your oil reserve or production line isn’t going to be as terrifying anymore. When you see these cats run at you, you’ll also hear the meow, which is a nice added touch.
Before turning on Arachnophobia mode, you might have noticed that some of the spiders have different sizes. While they are still all spiders, it’ll be hard to differentiate the strong ones from the weaker ones since they are all cats. However, there are different images of cats for each type or size of spiders. It’ll take a while to get used to, especially if you are used to using ranged weapons like Rifles because their hitboxes will look weirder when shooting them.
If you are struggling to fight these cats, you can fly using a Jetpack, and they’ll never reach you anyway. This gives you time to aim and shoot.
