How to Unlock Commando’s Sabotage Skill
Commando’s new special ability, Sabotage, lets him throw three explosives that attach to surfaces and zap nearby enemies for 400% damage when attacked. Unlocking it requires you to defeat Mithrix after accumulating at least eight Karma during a run.
First, make sure you’ve enabled the new Karma system on the character selection screen. You can earn Karma by performing different tasks.

One of the easiest ways to accumulate Karma is by visiting the Bazaar Between Time. Here’s how:
- Enter the Bazaar Between Time and purchase three Lunar items to earn one Karma.
- Attack Newt until he kicks you out of the Bazaar. This also grants one Karma.
- Repeat the process to accumulate more Karma.
- Loop your run if needed until you reach eight.
- Once you have enough Karma, travel to the moon and defeat Mithrix.
Other ways to earn Karma include collecting a Legendary item on stage four, obtaining 50 items, defeating Aurelionite, and killing the Elder Lemurians found in Abandoned Aqueduct’s hidden chamber.
Keep in mind that Mithrix becomes much harder at eight Karma, so looping to improve your build is important.
How to Unlock Huntress’s Laser Cyclone Skill
Huntress’s new secondary ability, Laser Cyclone, lets you throws a spinning glaive that deals 400% damage per second and can be juggled when caught to increase its damage. To unlock it you must obtain an Artifact from Bulwark’s Ambry within the first 25 minutes of a run.
You’ll need to reach stage five quickly and access the Artifact Portal using the code-entry terminal found on Sky Meadow or Helminth Hatchery.
- Reach stage five, preferably with enough time remaining to complete an Artifact Trial.
- Find the Compound Generator, which consists of nine interactive nodes and a nearby terminal.
- Enter a valid Artifact code and interact with the terminal to open the Artifact Portal.
- Enter Bulwark’s Ambry and collect an Artifact Key.
- Use the key on the Artifact Reliquary in the center of the arena.
- Defeat enemies until another Artifact Key drops, then repeat the process until the Reliquary is destroyed.
- Collect the Artifact before the 25-minute mark to unlock Laser Cyclone.

You’ll want to spend less than five minutes on each stage to give yourself enough time for the Trial. Avoid unnecessary fights and prioritize mobility items to speed things up.
How to Unlock Engineer’s Laser Cutter Skill
Engineer’s new primary fire skill, Laser Cutter, fires a charged laser that deals 270–630% damage per second while also healing friendly turrets and drones. To unlock it you just need to place a Fuel Array into an Equipment Drone.
The Fuel Array is found inside the escape pod you spawn in at the beginning of a run. Interact with the back of the pod to retrieve it. However, the Fuel Array automatically explodes if your health drops to 50% or lower, so it’s best to collect it after you’ve cleared the first stage.

Once you have the Fuel Array, progress through stages until you find an Equipment Drone. Interact with the Equipment Drone while holding the Fuel Array to transfer it and unlock the Laser Cutter skill.
How to Unlock Artificer’s Tectonic Blast Skill
Artificer’s new Utility ability, Tectonic Blast, fires a spread of eight shards that each deal 100% damage and apply Oil to enemies. Unlocking it requires you to reach Mithrix without charging any of the pillars on Commencement.
This is easy with Artificer because her Ion Surge Special ability provides enough vertical mobility to bypass the pillars on Commencement entirely.

Once you reach Commencement, use Ion Surge to gain height and travel toward Mithrix’s arena. You can also use mobility equipment such as the Eccentric Vase or Milky Chrysalis to help reach the arena or you can brute force it with enough mobility items and Hoopoo Feathers.
Enter Mithrix’s arena without charging any pillars on Commencement, and you’ll unlock Tectonic Blast.
How to Unlock REX’s Proliferation Skill
REX’s new Utility ability, Proliferation, Sacrifices 20% HP to deploy an attacking flower that REX can teleport to, consuming it to recover health. To unlock it you need to beat the game while holding at least five different Lunar items.

The easiest way to accomplish this is to visit the Bazaar Between Time, where you can purchase Lunary Items with Lunar Coins. You have to purchase five different Lunar items. Once you have at least five, continue your run and defeat Mithrix to complete the challenge.
How to Unlock Acrid’s Cloying Breath Skill
Acrid’s new Special ability, Cloying Breath, releases a lingering cloud of poisonous breath that deals 240% damage per second to enemies caught inside. Unlocking it requires you to beat the game after using a Shrine of Order at least once during the run.
Shrines of Order are rare interactables that randomize your existing item collection by converting all items of the same rarity into copies of one randomly selected item of that rarity.
For example, if you have 30 Common items, using the shrine could turn all 30 into Crowbars, Bison Steaks, or another Common item you already possess.
There is a fixed Shrine of Order location on Commencement, making it possible to complete the challenge even if you haven’t encountered one earlier. Once you’ve activated the shrine, finish the run by defeating Mithrix and escaping to unlock Cloying Breath.

Because a Shrine of Order can completely ruin your build, it’s worth saving this interaction until you’re confident you can finish the run with whatever items you receive.
The Shrine of Order on Commencement is located on a floating rock behind the Pillars of Mass area, to the left when approaching from the rescue ship. This is the most reliable location if you’re specifically trying to unlock Acrid’s new ability.
