How to Turn Off Passive Mode in GTA 5

To turn off passive mode in GTA 5, head into your Interaction Menu and scroll down to “Enable/Disable Passive Mode”. Your Interaction menu is the same one you use to access your vehicles, inventory, Motor Club, and other options.

Depending on which platform you’re playing on, you’ll have to press different keys or buttons to access the Player Interaction menu. If you’re a PC player, the default key is M. If you’re on PlayStation, hold down on the Touchpad to access the menu. Lastly, press either the Back or View button on Xbox.

You’ll determine whether other players can damage you by enabling and disabling passive mode. Turning on passive mode is your best call if you want to travel around without getting killed by other people. However, you can’t turn passive mode on if you have a bounty on your head!

Similarly, if you want to be the one destroying others, disabling passive mode allows you to attack other players who also have it off. It’s important to note that if another player has passive mode enabled, you won’t be able to damage them!
