How to Tame Fasolasuchus in Ark Survival Ascended: Scorched Earth

The coolest dino of the dunes is undoubtedly the Fasolasuchus in Ark Survival Ascended: Scorched Earth. But taming this aggressive beast is no easy task for two reasons. First: it’s incredibly hard to find, and second: it requires you to complete a minigame to actually tame it.

So, here’s how it works. The Fasolasuchus can only be found in the surrounding desert of Scorched Earth. And as you traverse the sands, you’ll likely stumble across one or two of these massive lizards. Unfortunately, it only seems like you can tame them if they’re underground. And this is the hardest way to find these creatures, as their mounds are quite subtle. See below.

Once you do find a mound, you’ll need to approach the mound. You’ll need to set an explosive on the mound. Setting a charge of C4 and then backing up is the ideal way to do this. But don’t put too many explosives on it! One should be sufficient. Otherwise, you run the risk of killing your Fasolasuchus! If you don’t have C4, a grenade will do just fine. I found this Fasolasuchus at the coordinates 28.8, 15.5.

When you’re ready, detonate the explosive and the Fasolasuchus will reveal itself. It will be temporarily stunned, giving you the chance to get on its back. You’ll need to run up to it while it has stars over its head. Get close enough in this small window and you should see an interact button that will let you ride it. Spamming the interact button worked for me. Once you’re on its back, you’ll need to steer it into rocks.

Doing so will increase its torpidity. However, you have a time limit on this. A green bar representing control will appear. This will deplete, and it represents how long you have to try to tame it. But expect it to put up a fight! It’s not a smooth ride at all. Still, try to aim it at individual rocks and rock salt for the best results. Letting it get too close to land will cause it to pop out of the sand and throw you off. If this happens, you can wait until the Fasolasuchus burrows back into the sand to try again.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to put kibble in its inventory to tame it. But once it eats it, the Fasolasuchus will automatically be tamed! But the best part of the Fasolasuchus isn’t just that it’s a giant desert croc. It’s the fact that you can ride it! But to do so, you’ll need to reach level 70, because that’s when the Fasolasuchus Saddle becomes available.

If that doesn’t sound tough up, your next mount should be the wyvern. Which will make getting organic polymer and taming a Phoenix that much easier.
