How to Start the Gauntlet in Diablo 4

Your build gets put to the test

Trials bring the first version of a competitive mode to Diablo 4 in the form of The Gauntlet, and for most middle end-game players, it’s super easy to start. My guide will cover how you can enter these dungeons for the first time.

Open up the collections menu in World Tier 4 and select the Trials tab on the right to teleport to The Gauntlet. The Collections menu is the same place where you can find all the Codex descriptions in the game and all of your challenge progress. In the future, there could be more under the Trials tab, but The Gauntlet is the only option for now. Before you jump into the new challenge, though, you need to make sure your character is ready.

Each dungeon tied to The Gauntlet will be around Nightmare Dungeon Tier 70 in terms of difficulty. For level 100 players that have a full build, that’s not an issue and will be a breeze for earning more scores. Players that just reached World Tier 4 are going to struggle, though. You can always try out the Trial anyway to see how your character places on the leaderboard, but I recommend at least reaching level 100 so you have all your Paragon points.

The Gauntlet dungeon will change on a weekly basis and the method to get started will always be the same. Whether it’s a dungeon in the Fractured Peaks or a cave in the Dry Steppes, the Collections menu is where you need to go. And remember that you can keep running the dungeon from the same menu over and over again.

How Does the Gauntlet Work in Diablo 4?

When you enter The Gauntlet, you have eight minutes to kill as many monsters as possible to earn the highest score. Everyone plays the exact same dungeon with the same layout for the week to see who can earn the most score. Then the leaderboard resets on the next Tuesday with another dungeon layout. Your goal is to be the best in your class while also earning new rewards along the way.

Before you jump into these Diablo 4 Trials, make sure to get some practice in Nightmare Dungeons.
