How to Complete the Talisman Puzzle in Alone in the Dark – Solution Guide

Jeremy’s missing, and now you find yourself in a dark and twisted version of New Orleans’ French Quarter. The only way to escape? Unraveling the secrets of the talisman left behind by the missing Jeremy.

You’ll find the talisman in the French Quarter in Miss Jackson’s place. Batiste will give you the keys, and after fighting your way through several misshapen monstrosities, you’ll find her room on the second floor. Inside will be both the talisman and a plate where you can place it.

Interact with the plate on the table, and Emily will immediately place the Talisman on the plate. From here, you’ll need to move each of the three discs’ so the code “358” lines up. We know this thanks to Jeremy’s note, which was nearby. If you look closely at the note, you can see three numbers circled on the talisman. This shows what order you should input the numbers.

The first disc, which is the closest to the black sunstone at the top of the talisman, should have the arrow pointing at 3. The second arrow on the second or middle disc should be pointing at 5. You can actually leave the middle disc as is; by default, it will be pointing at 5. The final arrow on the final disc, or outer disc, should be pointing at 8.

To move between discs, simply press up or down on the D-Pad. The disc you’re currently on will be highlighted in green. Once you’re on the disc you want, you can press left and right on the D-Pad to change the numbers, which will be indicated both visually on the disc and in the white diamonds on the right hand of the screen.

So long as the white diamonds read “358” in vertical order, you know you’ve done it correctly. And once that happens, you’ll see a dark picture in the black sunstone, which reveals a shredded picture.

Leave through the door behind the table, and you’ll find yourself back in the mansion. Get through the cut scene and you’ll need to find the Broken Plate, which is in the well in the garden. But expect to solve a puzzle to get to it.
