How to Solve the Mutare Magnus Puzzles in Honkai: Star Rail

Simpler than you think, with room for error

Like many aboard the Xianzhou Luofu, the Mutare Magnus Puzzles in Honkai: Star Rail are introduced by progressing through the story, with these puzzles in particular debuting by reconfiguring the Matrix of Prescience’s three base terminals. Solving these requires Trailblazers to reposition pins that are interconnected to match the image that is depicted in the diagram we are trying to replicate just above the puzzle.

Solutions for the Three Base Terminals for the Matrix of Prescience in Honkai: Star Rail

In the Omniscient Inquiry of Arcana Quest, it is up to you to restart the three base terminals to fix the Matric of Prescience. This involves Qingque leading you around to the different terminals, where upon arriving, she’ll give you a definition of its function before an image will appear on a hexagonal medal. Nodes with lightning threads will appear behind you in disarray, and it’s up to you to place them back in the right order to replicate that very image in front of you. Here’s how to do it.

Restarting the Temporal Terminal

  1. Pick up the center node and place it in the southwest spot.
  2. Pick up the southeast Node and place it in the east spot.

Restarting the Spatial Terminal

  1. Pick up the southeast node and place it in the east spot.
  2. Pick up the northwest node and place it in the southwest spot.

  2. Pick up the second east node and place it in the southwest spot.

Solutions for the Mutare Magnus Puzzles in Honkai: Star Rail

Aside from the story, you can unlock more Mutare Magnus puzzles once you’ve completed this part of the Trailblazer Quest. On the Divination Commission Map at the Xianzhou Luofu, if you travel southeast to a small space before it cuts off into a port, there is another section where other people work on the Matrix.

You can also take the Conclave Hall Space Anchor there, as depicted on the map just above. You’ll want to talk to Huixing, who is the Matrix Manager but don’t judge them based on their size. Helping them out with routine fixes on the Matrix of Prescience will actually give you the chance to unlock multiple chests in this area. When you first talk to them, you can complete three Matrix puzzles that’ll result in two chests being rewarded. However, in order to complete this task in full with Huixing, you’ll need to come back the next day to be able to perform the next routine maintenance with him. So don’t forget to come back to Huixing for extra rewards after you do your dailies!
