How to Solve the Brazier Puzzle in Titan Quest 2

There’s a confusing quest in the Flooded Farmlands near the Prygos Outskirts called “Cages in the Dark” in Titan Quest 2.

The quest takes you to a cave where there’s a mysterious locked door and a clue about the braziers. Here’s the brazier puzzle solution in TQ2.

How to Finish the Brazier Puzzle in Titan Quest 2

If you come across the brazier puzzle with the mysterious locked door, and you played around the three braziers for way longer than you are willing to admit, then you are not alone.

The mysterious locked door gives the following clue:

“You imagine yourself lighting a lone brazier. Then a pair of Braziers. Then a trio. Then the thoughts fade.”

Naturally, you’ll look at the three braziers next to the door and light up one. You’ll notice it fades and you’ll think to light up two next time and then three. However, the clue actually pertains to different braziers, apart from the one next to the locked door.

There are three areas in the cave with one, two, and three braziers. If you look at the image above, you’ll see the other areas with the braziers. The one to the north has one brazier, and the one to the east has two. You’ll still need to follow the clue and light up the braziers in order. So, go to the north, then head east, and finally, finish with the three braziers next to the locked door.

The mysterious door should open up automatically, and you’ll see someone inside. He’s going to refuse to go out, and you’ll just have to let him be. Loot the room for some random items and head out. Close the door, but avoid closing it when you are still inside, as you can get stuck inside and forced to use the portal. Well, you can portal out anyway if you are done looting the cave.

Cages in the Dark Quest Rewards in Titan Quest 2

Go back to the Pyrgos Outskirts waypoint and head west. In the small town, you’ll see Timandra. Talk to her to finish the Cages in the Dark quest. The quest doesn’t reward anything, and you’ll actually notice that you already got the rewards even before you talked to Timandra.

When you open the mysterious door, you will have already received 2,440 experience points and 10x Embers of Night.
