How to Respec Stats in No Rest for the Wicked

Choose carefully, Cerim.

Despite encountering technical issues, No Rest for the Wicked continues to hit headlines with more shocking news about ongoing problems and lacking features within the game—and one of its most recently discovered hiccups might be the most frustrating and confusing matter of all. If you’re curious about respeccing stats in No Rest for the Wicked, continue reading.

Can You Respec Stats in No Rest for the Wicked?

No Rest for the Wicked doesn’t have classes and the entire game revolves around a softclass system where players must level the right stats to use the appropriate weapon, and then learn the combos of that said weapon to perfect the ideal play style for the player. Sounds complicated, right? Well, it gets much trickier knowing stat upgrades in this current version of the game, are permanent and unchangeable—for now.

Yes, you read that right. No, you can’t actually change your stats in No Rest for the Wicked once you’ve already learned them. This means if you don’t like a double-handed sword after leveling strength, there’s nothing you can do but restart the adventure. The same goes for experimenting with different builds at their full potential. Thankfully though, players will get to respec their stats in the future.

The developer of No Rest for the Wicked, Moon Studios, stated in a Discord community response that the team is working on ways to implement a re-specialization mechanic, so players can experiment with different stat builds and explore creative gameplay choices.

While this is great news for an update that seems so last minute, it’ll be a while before it happens. Right now, Moon Studios has some more pressing issues to solve and with so many on the list already, it’s hard to say for sure how long it will be before players can start exploring different builds—without restarting the game, of course. But at least players can find some solace in knowing that the stat respec mechanic is coming soon-ish.

Until then, feel free to keep an eye out for more information across Prima Games as we look to address current and upcoming news, guides, and lists about No Rest for the Wicked.
