Give me my arm back!

As you get into various battles within Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’re likely to notice some lost health is grey and some is outright missing. Here’s how to refill your loss gauge in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Refilling your loss gauge in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is simple, but will depend on if you want to restore grey health or want to restore the empty part of your health. To restore grey health, you can either consume items like apples which restore health or, if you have a mage in your party, can have them cast a heal spell to heal it naturally. You can also cast it on yourself if you choose the Mage vocation.

As for health that’s not grey and is simply lost, that’s a bit more annoying. For this, you need to rest at a camp or inn near you. For example, you can rest at an inn in Melve for around 1500 Gold to fully restore any health you can’t regain. There are also more as you progress, so provided you’re near a settlement, there shouldn’t be a problem. You can even purchase Camping Gear for a few dollars if you want to camp anywhere, but I wouldn’t suggest doing that.

Can You Disable the Loss Gauge System All Together?

From the looks of it, there’s no setting in-game that completely removes the loss gauge. You’ll likely need to wait for a mod for that, which thankfully was rather common with the first Dragon’s Dogma game. It’s hard to speak to how moddable Dragon’s Dogma 2 is given the game only just released, but it’s hard to fault the ambition of modders.
