How to Pre-Order the Tears of the Kingdom Link Amiibo

How to Redeem amiibo Rewards in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

All Tears of the Kingdom amiibo rewards and how to get them

Gotta love amiibos, these Nintendo figures not only make the shelves look better but also have a practical application in most 1st party games for the Switch. The same is the case with The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, which has support for both the amiibo series of figures released alongside this title and many other Zelda-themed amiibos from before. But you might be wondering how to actually use amiibo figures in Tears of the Kingdom and how to claim the rewards they provide in the game. Let’s find out.

How to Claim Amiibo Rewards in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

In order to claim amiibo rewards in Tears of the Kingdom, you must first enable amiibo support in the game. Either in the options on the main screen or in the options during the game (+ button, system, then options), check if the first item “amiibo” is set to “amiibo enabled”, if it follow the next steps:

  1. While in the game press and hold the L button, the same way you would for Ultrahand.
  2. From the wheel using the R analog stick select “amiibo”.
  3. You can now position the white circle on the ground (the place where the rewards will spawn).
  4. Now just place the amiibo figure on the NFC touchpoint (over the analog stick on the right JoyCon or in the middle of the pro controller, see the pic below).

If done correctly the rewards will fall down right into the white circle on the ground, ready to be picked up. Just be sure not to put that white circle near a cliff or a similar terrain since the crazy physics of the game can make your items fall into the abyss and then you will have to wait for 24 hours in order to scan your amiibo again (yes, that happened to me).
