All aboard Gigantrite!

Saurodoma Island is a small island tucked away at the bottom right corner of the map in Throne and Liberty. You won’t need to access this remote location until later on in the game, but when you do, you will probably wonder how to get there. In this guide, we will teach you everything you need to do to unlock the waypoint on Saurodoma Island.

How to Unlock the Waypoint on Saurodoma Island

While you can swim to Saurodoma Island, the Waypoint is located on an extremely high pedestal that can only be accessed from the sky. And the best way to travel the skies in Throne of Liberty is on the back of the Gigantrite.

Swimming to Saurodoma Island every time you want to visit is extremely inconvenient, so you will want to unlock this towering Waypoint as soon as possible.

How to Ride Gigantrite

Gigantrite is your one-way ticket to Saurodoma Island, and thankfully, hitching a ride on it is extremely easy. Not only that, but it’s also undeniably awesome. The hardest part of the process is waiting for the epic flying whale to spawn.

Gigantrite only appears once every three hours to do a lap around the map in Throne and Liberty. The exact time that Gigantrite will appear depends on whether you have your in-game time set to local or universal time. This can be changed in the Settings.

The best way to find out when to expect Gigantrite is to check the map. From there, head to the Events tab on the right, select Hourly events, and take a look at the time slots. You will find the Gigantrite icon in each three-hourly time slot.

Press the bell underneath the time on the left and select the Gigantrite icon to set up a reminder so you don’t miss the event and have to wait another three hours. If you’re set to universal time and are wondering what time it is currently, you can check it at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

How to Reach Gigantrite

Now that you know when you will encounter Gigantrite, you just need to figure out how to reach the mystical beast. Gigantrite doesn’t land on the ground to let everyone hop aboard. Your only choice is to fly to him from the top of a tall location. This requires the gliding mount to be unlocked.

There are a couple of towers you can climb to reach Gigantrite, but one is more reliable than the others. That is the Starlight Observatory Tower. Gigantrite doesn’t follow the same path every time it spawns, which means it might not fly past the tower you’re patiently waiting at.

The flying whale always soars past the Starlight Observatory Tower, however, so you will never have to worry about missing your ride if you wait there.

It also does a couple of laps of the tower, so if you miss the first time, quickly make your way back up the grapple hooks to reach the top and try again.

How to Reach Saurodoma Island

Once you’re safely on Gigantrite’s back, you can sit back and relax until you reach Saurodoma Island. As you approach the Island, you will see the tell-tale purple glow of the Waypoint on a large, mushroom-shaped pedestal. Wait until Gigantrite is close enough to the pedestal and soar off toward the Waypoint.

As long as you have unlocked Saurodoma Island, you will be able to safely land at the Waypoint. If not, you will encounter an impenetrable force field that will block your landing. Saurodoma Island unlocks after you’ve completed the Ruler of Lycan quest, which is in the fourth Milestone of the game, the Frenzy of Wraiths.

Milestones are time-based events that are tied to your server, so if you haven’t unlocked it yet, you will have to wait a bit before reaching Saurodoma Island. You can check what Milestone you’re up to and when the next ones will start by visiting the Milestone tab in the Main Menu.
