How to Play Sims 4 Multiplayer

So, to fulfill your dream of living together with other Sims players in the same household, you will first need to go to the official S4MP website and download the mod, then follow the instructions below:

  1. The host must have Sims 4 household ready with every player’s Sim ready, while other players must enable Mods & Scripts in their games and save & exit.
  2. After downloading and extracting the S4MP files, run the S4MP Launcher.exe as admin and be sure to exclude that executable from any antivirus software you might have.
  3. In the S4MP’s settings tab set the path of the document as follows – For Windows: “C:\Users\USER\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4” and for Mac: “/Users/USER/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4
  4. In the same tab, set the game’s folder path as follows – For Windows, if you play through Origin: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4“, EA Desktop: “C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4“, or Steam: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4“. For Mac, set it as: “/Users/USER/Applications
  5. Next, you must allow S4MP in your Firewall settings to avoid connectivity issues.
  6. In S4MP, click “Play on LAN” and choose your prepared save game as host.
  7. Share your VPN or IP address with other players so they can join.
  8. Once everybody is in and their saves are synced, click on “Everyone’s Connected” and then “Start Game.” If the game doesn’t launch, you can start it manually.
  9. When The Sims 4 launches, load the same save game, and if everything goes right, you should get a notification that the multiplayer mod is loaded.

Some Things to Remember While Playing The Sims 4 Multiplayer

  • You can have two to 12 players in the game
  • All players must have the same version of the game installed
  • Same packs and kits on all computers
  • Same custom content and mods as well
  • You can only play in the same household
  • It is recommended that the host only saves the game
  • To chat in-game, use CTRL + SHIFT + C

So there you have it; if you organize your Sims friends and set everything right, you can play as one big happy Sims family! There are, of course, limitations because this is not an official online mode, so don’t expect everything to run smoothly all the time, but it can be very fun anyway, especially with a couple of additional modes that I will not mention on this occasion.
