Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is a new mobile game from the folks behind the Ni no Kuni series and Netmarble. While it’s natively a mobile title, Cross Worlds also has a PC client that’s in its beta phase. Normally you’d expect booting up a PC game to be easy, but there’s a weird snag for Cross Worlds. Long story short, you can’t play without the mobile version. Here’s how to play Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds on PC.

To get the client, just head over to Netmarble’s landing page for Cross Worlds. There’s a PC version button right on top of the page, which will take you to a download and FAQ page. The file you download is actually a software client for Netmarble in general, but this specific executable will drop Cross Worlds into your Games list. You can install the game there, as well as set it up for automatic updates and whatnot.
How to Link Email to Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds
Now, if you boot that up right away, you won’t be able to play. Why not? Well, for some reason you can’t play Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds on PC without setting your account up on mobile first. So go ahead and install the app as well if you haven’t already, or use something like Bluestacks if your phone can’t run it. Go through the beginning steps in account creation, and make sure to link your email account. You have to do the email option; no other linking option allows PC client use.
If you’ve already started the game on mobile without linking your email, you can find the option in the account settings. Otherwise, it’s part of the registration process. Once you’ve established the link, you can then jump to the PC version and log in. From there you can proceed as normal. Cross Worlds is a mobile title, so the buttons will still be all over the screen by default.
But for now, the only way to look at the controls is to press F1, which will show you the keys on each respective button. There’s no way to remap at the moment, nor is there controller support. Like I said, it’s a beta. Ostensibly that stuff will be implemented later, but for now, this is what you have to work with.
