Destiny 2’s Solstice 2023 event is here, and with it comes a new set of armor to upgrade. Each armor piece can be improved to unlock glowing elements and increase the stats of all drops. While there is a quest line to help guide players to these cool aesthetic upgrades, it is still a complicated system.
How to Get Solstice Armor Glows in Destiny 2
To get started, head to Eva Levante in the Tower and collect your Sunlit armor set. Each piece can be upgraded three times, with the third granting the elusive glow. To start each upgrade, you will need Kindling.
To get Kindling, you must complete challenges on the Event Card, which can be found next to the Seasonal Challenges box in the Quests tab of the Director. When you complete a challenge, return to the card and claim it to receive rewards and some Kindling.

Now go to one of your armor pieces. Next to the usual mod slots are two new slots. One is for Kindling upgrades, which you must unlock in order. The first upgrade costs 1 Kindling, the next 2 Kindling, and the third costs 3 Kindling.
Once you have added a Kindling upgrade, you need to add Embers, located in the second new slot. This will cost Ash, which can be earned by completing the Bonfire Bash activity, while Silver Leaves are in your inventory.
After the Embers have been added, your armor will be upgraded to the next tier and ready for the next Kindling upgrade. Once this has been done three times, you will unlock the Glow for that armor piece and any future drops of that same piece. You will also be able to upgrade the stats of the armor, to make a perfect set easier to acquire.
