Making Copper and Iron Plates is probably the most significant part of your progression in Dawn Apart. You might say these products are the “essential” materials you always want in stock because they are used to craft several vital things.

However, you’ll have to work hard for it first because your resources are limited, and automation isn’t a thing yet when you are just starting off. Here’s how to get your Copper and Iron Plate production running in Dawn Apart.

This information is based on the demo and may change at full release, but we will keep this article updated.

How to Produce Iron and Copper Plates in Dawn Apart

To produce Iron and Copper Plates, you’ll start with the most basic resources. You’ll need to order your prospects to start mining Copper and Iron Ores. It is better when you have a mining drill, so if you have access to that, you should skip manually mining these nodes because you’ll need so many, and you don’t want to tire out your prospects or workers.

After getting a decent supply of Copper and Iron Ores, you’ll want to build a Furnace. The Furnace smelts Copper and Iron Ores into Copper and Iron Ingots. After you turn them into Ingots, you’ll move to the Industrial Cutter and turn those Copper and Iron Ingots into Copper and Iron Plates.

To simplify the process, here’s everything you need:

  • Continuously mine Copper and Iron Ores.
  • Mine Granite Ores to make the Furnace.
  • Make a Stonemasonry Workbench to craft Granite Blocks.
  • Craft four Furnaces.
  • Start making Copper Ingots and Iron Ingots (2 of each product for the four Furnaces).
  • Stockpile 80 Copper Ingots and 80 Iron Ingots and craft two Industrial Cutters using the Mechanical Workbench.
  • Use the Industrial Cutters to make Copper Plates and Iron Plates.

For the math:

  • 2x Copper/Iron Ores = 1x Copper/Iron Ingot – 5 seconds craft in the Furnace
  • 2x Copper/Iron Ingots – 1x Copper/Iron Plate – 5 seconds craft in the Industrial Cutter
  • 2:1 ratio of Furnaces to Industrial Cutters for 100% efficiency.

Once you get this running, you’ll stockpile hundreds of Copper and Iron Plates. If you want to increase that number, the ratios are easy since things are simple for now. You just want to double your Furnaces and Industrial Cutters. Keep in mind, you want to increase your mining drills too, especially if you want to have more Ingots instead of Plates.
