The Sims 4: Horse Ranch – How to Make an Excellent Bottle of Nectar

Since creating nectar is similar to cooking food, four main things impact your odds of making an excellent, high-quality bottle:

  • Your Sim’s current mood
  • Your Sim’s Nectar-Making skill
  • Ingredient quality
  • Nectar bottle difficulty

While certain moods and traits such as Savant or Overachiever will help you build the skill quicker, you’ll want to focus on these four things when improving nectar quality.

Nectar-Making Skill Ideal Moodlet

The ideal moodlet for the nectar-making skill is Energized. If your Sim is energized, the skill will increase faster, allowing you to level up quicker and improve your bottle quality. You can gain this mood by exercising, taking a brisk shower, or drinking coffee.

Maxing Out Your Sim’s Nectar-Making Skill

When you first begin making nectar, you’ll start at level one and can reach a maximum skill level of five. A Sim with a maxed-out nectar-making skill has a much higher chance of creating an excellent bottle of nectar than someone who is just starting. Your skill level will naturally increase as you craft more nectar bottles, so continue for a while until your Sim masters it.

Ingredient Quality

Below are the crops you’ll want to focus on as you increase your nectar-making skills:

  • Apples
  • Grapes
  • Strawberries (level two)
  • Potatoes (level two)
  • Lemons (level four)
  • Any Herbs (level four)
  • Any Berries (level five)
  • Any Fruit (level five)

Using high-quality fruits and vegetables is a great way to increase your nectar quality, especially if you have a gardener Sim and want to use any excess crops. Since purchasing basic ingredients from the nectar maker shop only gives your normal quality items, planting and growing better fruits will go a long way towards

In other words, if you’re new to nectar-making but are experienced with gardening, start planting some extra apples and grapes until you can make some strawberry nectar.

Nectar Bottle Difficulty Level

Like most skills, your Sim will naturally struggle with creating high-level items until they’ve mastered the respective skill. In this case, your Sim will often have higher chances of creating excellent quality apple nectar than berry nectar, especially if you have low-quality berries or have never made the latter.

If painting has taught us anything, stick to what your Sim is familiar with unless you want to experiment for fun.
