How to Make a Plane in LEGO Fortnite

The word “plane” is sort of an umbrella term here, because what we’re actually building is more like a propelled, floating platform, but it still gets the job done. To build this “plane” you will need:

  • At least 1 Dynamic Foundation
  • At least 1 Large Balloon
  • At least 2 Thrusters or Large Thrusters
  • 1 Activation Switch

To start, you have to set up your platform. One Dynamic Foundation is a small space, but it will be enough to carry you and one or two small items. You’re free to snap together as many Dynamic Foundations as you want, but keep in mind that the bigger your surface is, the more Balloons and Thrusters you will need.

When you’re done with your platform, the next step is to attach some Thrusters or Large Thrusters to it. Again, the exact amount depends on how big you’ve built your platform, but you’ll want to distribute them evenly across one side. The Thrusters will make you move when you’re up in the air.

To get up in the air, the next thing is to attach the Large Balloons to your platform. Make sure you are using Large Balloons, because the regular ones aren’t strong enough to lift you and the platform and whatever you put on it. It’s very important to place one Balloon in the center of your Dynamic Foundation, regardless of how big you’ve built it. This is for stability. If one Balloon isn’t enough to get your platform in the air, try placing one Balloon on each corner of your surface.

After this is done, you should already be up in the sky. The final step is to add some movement to our plane, so we can get places. To achieve this, simply place your Activation Switch near the Thrusters and interact with it to turn it on and off. This is your engine, and now you can soar the sky.

Can the Plane be Steered?

As you might know already, as of date, there is no actual steering device on LEGO Fortnite, so to turn your plane, you need to unbalance the sides. Let’s say you want to turn left, you need to go to the left edge of the platform and place some blocks there. The larger the block and the closer to the edge you place it, the sharper the turn will be. To stop turning simply destroy the block.

Landing your plane is a similar process. You need to place heavy blocks equally distributed on your surface. Two to three blocks should be enough if your platform isn’t too big. You will descend slowly and safely to the ground.

Ultimately, and just like with real-life LEGO blocks, your limit is your imagination. A standard and practical flying device is a starting point, but you can build an air fortress if you want.
