Night Thorn Plant Locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

During the Forgotten Memories: Nurturing quest in DDLV, you’ll have to plant Night Thorn seeds in three different locations:

  • Near the giant Dreamlight Tree
  • Near the Pillar of Nurturing
  • Near the Mine entrance and waterfall

You will receive 25 seeds to plant and are required to grow 15. With that said, if you accidentally place some in the wrong spot, you’ll have some chances to try a different area!

Since we know the three locations to plant the seeds, the next step is figuring out the right spots! While this quest is forgiving with some of its requirements, it is still easy to pick the wrong area or plant the night thorns a little too far from the objective.

With that in mind, let’s walk through all three, one step at a time.

Growing the Dreamlight Tree Night Thorn Seeds

Starting with the giant Dreamlight Tree, you’ll want to plant your five plants close to its trunk. The picture below shows me growing them near the roots, with a bit of space around each night thorn so it can fit closer to the tree. Planting yours in a similar fashion will help you knock out the first part of this quest!

Planting the Pillar of Nurturing Night Thorn Seeds

Next, we’ll look at the Pillar of Nurturing! I planted mine close to the pillar, but like before, I spaced them out slightly to see how far they could go. As long as you have them near the pillar, you’ll gain credit toward the quest without many issues.

Growing the Mine Entrance Night Thorn Seeds

Lastly, you’ll have to plant five Night Thorn seeds near the Vitalys Mines entrance. For this one, I decided to stick to the mine’s entrance where you cross the stone path into the cave. I tried to keep most of the thorns as close to the path as possible, but even the farthest plant still worked for the quest.

Generally speaking, these plants are pretty forgiving with where you plant them as long as you’re in the area’s general vicinity. However, if you want to test whether a spot works, plant one night thorn seed, water it and wait for it to grow before trying the rest. Since the plants grow instantly, you won’t have to worry about waiting hours for them to finish. I did this for all three spots, and it helped ease any worries I might’ve had about growing these seeds at the right locations.
