How to Get to Gilded Coast in Risk of Rain 2 (2024)

Aurelionite is waiting.

The Gilded Coast is the home to Aurelionite, one of the tougher bosses in Risk of Rain 2. While going to that location has always had its perks in the base game, with the Seekers of the Storm expansion, there are a few more incentives to make a quick stop there. Here are the ways you can get to the Gilded Coast in Risk of Rain 2.

Reaching the Gilded Coast in Risk of Rain 2

You can reach the Gilded Coast in Risk of Rain 2 with the following methods:

  • Interact with the Altar of Gold at any stage to summon a Gold Portal. This is a very rare altar that randomly shows up in different stages and has a distinct look compared to regular altars.
  • With the Seekers of the Storm update, you can now activate Halcyon Shrines, which will summon Green Portals. If you find another Halcyon shrine after entering the Green Portal, activating it will also summon a Gold Portal, which will take you to the Gilded Coast.
  • Finally, the third way to get to the Gilded Coast is by visiting the Bazaar Between Time through the Blue Portal which can be summoned by interacting with Newt Altars found in different stages. Here, you have a chance for the Golden Portal to show up on the Lunar Seer, which costs 3 lunar coins.

These are currently the only ways for players to reach the Gilded Coast, face off against Aurelionite, and earn tons of loot as well. While it’s always useful to visit the Gilded Coast on a regular run, defeating Aurelionite is essential if you want to unlock the False Son survivor.

While the expansion’s launch has been fairly rough, the new characters including Seeker and Chef are great additions. The new mastery skins aren’t anything to scoff at, either.
