How to Get the Swarmers Exotic in Destiny 2

These boots make the bugs go crazy.

The best part of Strand as a Warlock is your strange, eldritch bug children. They spawn, then attack anything with a red outline in their path. And there’s certain Exotics that can make them even more effective. Here’s how to get the Swarmers Exotic in Destiny 2.

How to Get the Swarmers Exotic in Destiny 2

Swarmers is one of the latest Exotics to hit Destiny 2 as part of the Lightfall expansion, and if you’re a Warlock who likes Strand, it’s worth considering. While it’s nowhere close to pushing Starfire Protocol out of the meta, this Leg Exotic can supercharge your Threadlings. Here’s how its ability breaks down.

Swarmers has an Exotic Perk that’s… also called Swarmers, for some reason. This perk ensures that when you destroy a Tangle, you spawn two Threadlings. Your Threadlings then inflict unravel on targets that they damage.

Community research has found that these Threadlings apply Unravel for five seconds on hit in PvP, with this number increasing to 7.5 if you equip the Thread of Continuity fragment.

If that sounds good to you, there are three ways to grab it.

All Ways of Getting the Swarmers Exotic in Destiny 2

  • Complete the Lightfall Campaign on Legendary Difficulty
  • Complete a Legend or Master Level Lost Sector
  • Complete Vex Incursion Zones

If you opt to complete the Lightfall Campaign on Legendary difficult, you’ll be rewarded with a choice between the two new Lightfall Exotics for Warlocks. These are Ballidorse Wrathweavers, great for Stasis builds, and Swarmers.

Legend Lost Sectors move daily on a set rotation, with certain Exotic Armor pieces being up for grabs each time. If you want to grab Swarmers, challenge the Legend Lost Sector on a day when Exotic Leg armor has a chance to drop. Remember, you’ll need to complete it solo!

Vex Incursion Zones were updated so that upon completion, you can get any Exotic piece you’re missing, including pieces that used to be locked to Legend and Master Difficulty Lost Sectors. That’s a tremendous boon, which reflects how difficult it can be to fully complete a Vex Incursion Zone.

If you’re thinking of tackling a Legend Lost Sector but feel like you might be out of your depth, don’t worry! This build makes all Lost Sectors a breeze. Check it out here: Best Build for Completing Legendary Lost Sectors in Destiny 2.
