The Ray Gun has been an iconic weapon in the Zombies modes included in the various Call of Duty over the years, and it has returned in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The powerful weapon can be quite difficult to get, though it is possible to get lucky.

How to Get the Ray Gun in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Players can get the Ray Gun in one of two ways: through the Mystery Box or crafting it through the Crafting Schematics menu before starting a game. The former is based on luck, while the latter has a few requirements before it can be crafted.

The Ray Gun is included in the pool of weapons players can draw from the Mystery Box, though it will cost 950 Essence per try. The Wonder Weapon is not guaranteed to appear, and could take multiple Mystery Boxes to get it possibly.

The other method is to get the Ray Gun Schematics by completing various bounties in the red threat zone. Getting the schematics as a reward from contracts can be luck-based as well, but is the best chance to ensure it pops up. Immediately exfil after receiving the Ray Gun Schematics to then be able to craft them before missions.

How to Craft the Ray Gun in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

The Ray Gun can be crafted before starting missions by going into the backpack inventory, then into the Schematic Crafting menu. Go to the Wonder Weapons tab and select the Ray Gun.

The weapon will be placed in the inventory and will have to be activated while in a game to equip it to one of your weapon slots. Since it is a very special weapon, crafting it will cause a 48-hour cooldown before another Wonder Weapon can be crafted.
