How to Get the Malicious Armor in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The Malicious Armor is just Megaman cosplay for Pokemon

Have you ever wanted to pretend to be a land baron in medieval Spain? Just spend your days riding around on your horse / legendary motorcycle lizard while sending out a knight to terrorize the local populace, beating them into auto-battle submission and reaping the League Point rewards?

Well, now you can. Meticulous trainers may have already found the Fire Child pokemon running around in their early games, but now that you have it, how do you evolve it into the stately, spectral Ceruledge? The answer is by dressing it up in a little outfit.

How to Get the Malicious Armor in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet hasn’t shied away from some unique evolution methods, but Charcadet requires the Malicious Armor to evolve.

Unfortunately, while you probably found your Charcadet early on, you won’t be able to get your hands on the Malicious Armor until you get to Zapapico, the mining town. This is likely the third town you’ll stumble upon, just north of East Province (Area Two), and North West of Levincia, home of the electric gym.

But once you make it to Zapapico, go East until you see a lady sporting an all denim look by the fountain, if you’re playing Violet. While the quest is very similar if you’re playing Scarlet, that’s not who this article is for. Beyond her questionable outfit, you’ll be able to tell it’s her because she’ll have a yellow speech bubble that says “Fancy a trade?”

Speak to her and the Denim Damsel will lay out the terms of the deal, which is a curio for ten Pokemon crafting items. The actual item will vary depending on whether you have Scarlet or Violet.

For Pokemon Violet:

You’ll need to present the Denim Damsel with 10 Sinistea Chips. To gather these chips, you’ll need to utterly crush these precious Ghost pokemon through auto-battles, normal battles, or by capturing them. Easy enough, as Sinistea is incredibly common outside of the Zapapico entrance at night. You’ll grind it out in no time at all.

Once you have ten, head back and Denim Damsel will present you with the Malicious Armor. Go into your bag to use it on Charcadet to get your own spooky knight Pokemon, Ceruledge!
