Where to Find the Hunting Rifle in Alan Wake 2

The Hunting Rifle appears during Saga’s fifth chapter, Return 5: Old Gods. As you explore the Valhalla Nursing Home, you’ll come across a Hunting Rifle behind some glass. While you might be excited to hop into the room through the door and snag it for yourself, the door is mysteriously missing its knob. This doorknob can be found in the Wellness Center, but where is the true mystery?

To find the doorknob, you’ll want to head back to the main entrance (the one not facing the manor). There will be two automatic doors here once you’ve progressed enough through the Wellness Center. In between the automatic doors is another door leading to the Staff Lounge, with the Staff Lounge having a door to a side room. Head into the side room, where you’ll find the doorknob situated. Take it, then head back to the Workshop where the Hunting Rifle is. Use the doorknob on the door, then head inside and take your new toy.

Is the Hunting Rifle Worth Using?

The Hunting Rifle is similar to the Crossbow in terms of its use case. However, both have their advantages and disadvantages. The Hunting Rifle doesn’t hit quite as hard as the Crossbow and doesn’t have the benefit of being a silenced weapon, but it does offer a five-round magazine that can be more easily reloaded. In my time with it, I’ve found it more usable than the Crossbow, but you might prefer the Crossbow if you like going stealthy for the most part.

If you’re looking for help getting the Crossbow, in case you missed it, here’s how to get the Crossbow code in Alan Wake 2.
