If you’re a Warlock, you know you’re one of the Traveler’s Chosen few. I might be biased, but Warlocks have some of the best abilities around. And with the Exotic Fallen Sunstar, those abilities will recharge that much faster. Here’s how to get the Exotic Fallen Sunstar in Destiny 2.
How to Get the Exotic Helmet Fallen Sunstar in Destiny 2
Fallen Sunstar is an excellent Exotic that does well in most builds and it can be obtained in two ways:
- Complete a Legend or Master Level Lost Sector
- Complete Vex Incursion Zones
Legend Lost Sectors are end game activities that take your standard Lost Sector and ramp them up to the next level. Each day, there’s a Lost Sector that Guardians have a chance to take on solo at higher level difficulties. These Lost Sectors offer a rotating loot pool of Exotic armor which can be dropped if you complete the Lost Sector on Legend or Master difficulty solo.
If you complete the Lost Sector on a day where the loot pool is for Exotic helmets, and you happen to be playing as a Warlock, there’s a chance that Fallen Sunstar might drop. Though… there’s also a chance that Dawn Chorus might drop instead.

You might have also heard that these Legend difficulty Lost Sectors aren’t worth farming, because of the low drop rates. While Exotics are still an uncommon drop, in March 2023, Bungie adjusted the Exotic drop rates and difficulty level for Legend and Master difficulty Lost Sectors, making the process much easier.
Vex Incursion Zones are a rare random event on Neomuna. To complete it, you’ll need to defeat six bosses. Once these bosses are dead, the chest has the chance to drop any Exotic piece you’re missing, including Exotic armor that used to be exclusive to Legend and Master Lost Sectors.
Fallen Star has the unique ability to create Ionic Traces. Ionic Traces, like wells, will help you move faster when picked up and will grant you additional ability energy. Nearby allies also gain ability energy when you collect an Ionic Trace. As you can imagine, this is extremely useful for endgame activities like Raids or higher difficulty Nightfalls.
Total Ability Energy Gained per Ionic Trace:
Grenade: 25% | Melee: 25% | Class Ability: 30%
Allies within a certain distance receive 10% Grenade, Melee, and Class Ability Energy when you pick up an Ionic Trace.
When used in conjunction with Well of Radiance and the Exotic Hand Cannon Lumina, you can become the ultimate support party member for your team.
If you struggle with Legend Lost Sectors, never fear. This build will make it much easier, even if you’re below 1800 power level: Best Build for Completing Legendary Lost Sectors in Destiny 2.
