As far as late-game content goes, acquiring any Aspects that you can is a major part of Diablo 4. These Aspects can be applied to all sorts of gear, giving everything from the standard (but helpful) stat boosts to ability-morphing bonuses. Some of these Aspects are for a particular character, while others like this Aspect offer buffs to any character. Here’s how to get the Aspect of the Expectant in Diablo 4.
Where to Find the Aspect of the Expectant in Diablo 4
The Aspect of the Expectant is found one of two ways, with one being guaranteed and the other being up to random chance. The first way is by completing the Underroot dungeon. This dungeon is found in Tur Dulra, one of the many strongholds you’ll have to clear if you want to complete the map. If you’re having trouble finding it, the waypoint is found Northwest of the Firebreak Manor waypoint, which you’ll get access to during one of the earlier missions of Act II. Clear the stronghold, then handle the dungeon and you’ll get the Aspect.
With that method being fairly easy, you might be wondering why you’d bother going for the random chance toward the Aspect. The reason for that is simple. When using any Aspect from the Codex of Power (when you get Aspects from dungeons or extract them from items), you’ll get the lowest value of that Aspect. To get a stronger variant, it must be from a piece of dropped gear. If you’re a min-maxer, you’ll want to get the Aspect of the Expectant on an item as a random drop from enemies. We suggest farming dungeons or world events to get it.
What Does the Aspect of the Expectant Do?
The Aspect of the Expectant makes it so that when you attack with a Basic Skill, your next Core Skill’s damage will be increased by anywhere between 5-10%. This stacks to 30%, and won’t reset until you use a Core Skill. This has great applications in Core Skill-focused builds, even if having class-specific Aspects is more often than not better. For example, it’d be great in my build for Necromancer, where I tend to spam Sever on healthier targets to melt them down. If you plan to use it in your own build, be sure to equip it to either your two-handed weapon or Amulet. The power of the skill will be increased by either 100% or 50% respectively.
