How to Get Tempest in Starfield

Will you bring down a tempest?

I have spent a lot of time working my way through the Crimson Fleet faction questline, and I’m here to tell you that they have a ton of exciting and powerful weapons at their disposal. Sure, you may need to steal some. You might have to hand over a few credits. But at the end of the day, as a space-faring pirate, you’re often better equipped than the UC Vanguard. One such weapon is Tempest, a unique rifle only available during this questline, but it’s not how you would expect. Here is how to get Tempest in Starfield!

To get Tempest in Starfield, follow through with the Crimson Fleet/UC SysDef questline until the very end, then choose UC SysDef over Delgado and his crew. It’s the ultimate betrayal, but you’ll collect Tempest for taking on Delgado and looting his corpse.

After that intro, you thought I was going in another direction, right? Even when playing as the good guy, the weapons you scoop up during your time with the Fleet prove exceptional, for the most part.

Tempest Stats and Details

As a compact, high-rate-of-fire rifle with readily available ammunition on most planets and through most vendors, Tempest is a good weapon. Is it the best? No. It’s good, though, and that’s saying something. Handloading propels this one a cut above other Tombstone variants, for sure.

  • Weapon Type: Rifle
  • Damage Type: Physical
  • Damage: 21
  • Ammunition Type: 11MM Caseless
  • Magazine Size: 36
  • Fire Rate: 90
  • Range: 40
  • Accuracy: 68.8%
  • Mass: 4.65
  • Value: 11480
  • Mod Slot 1: Laser Sight
  • Mod Slot 2: Reflex Sight
  • Mod Slot 3: Large Magazine
  • Rare Effect: Handloading – Volatile rounds are designed to pack a bigger punch but aren’t as stable and can fail occasionally.
  • Item ID: 3CE4B0

While I’m still not a fan of the Tombstone in general, not even a unique variant, the Handloading rare effect counts for something. It jacks up this highly inaccurate rifle’s power and damage output exponentially, making it viable.

If you’d rather wield a different, unique rifle that offers a little more bang for your buck, here’s how to get Vampire’s Gift!
