Siiver is one of the key resources to get past the early stages of Subnautica 2. It unlocks so many quality-of-life tools and stations, including the most helpful structure of all, the Scanner Station.

Here’s a short guide on where to get Silver and get started on playing with a lot of new tools and equipment in Subnautica 2.

Where to Get Silver in Subnautica 2

The closest Silver nodes should be found in the cave systems near Blackbox – Quaker and Camp One. You’ll get these markers when you progress through the Noa Terminal missions.

These cave systems are hard to miss since it is a massive one near both the Blackbox Quaker and Camp One areas. Go inside the caves, and you’ll find a lot of silver ore around the cave walls. There’s a mix of silver and copper ores, so I would suggest bringing a Portable Locker to maximize your farming run.

Tons of Silver and Copper are both needed throughout your playthrough, so picking them both up should be fine. You might need two or three visits to these caves to fully get every resource, even with the Portable Locker.

Now, once you get your Silver Ores, you should immediately go straight to constructing the Scanner Station. You’ll get the blueprint when you scan enough Scanner Stations (one should be near the Blackbox Quaker, inside the flooded habitat).

The Scanner Station needs 1x System Chip, 3x Titanium, and 1 Wiring Kit. You need one Silver for the Wiring Kit, and the System Chip also needs a Wiring Kit, so that’s a total of just two Silver Ores needed to craft, apart from the other materials like Copper Wire, Titanium, and Quartz.

Once you have the Scanner Station, several resources become very easy to find since you can use the Scanner Station to mark nearby mineral nodes through a signal, and you can just follow the nodes.

Silver Ores are also turned into Silver Ingots and Germanium in the Processor, unlocking several tools and structures, which would probably signal that you are officially out of the early game, needing a lot of power already through turbines to power up all these stations and working with several different resources already.
