How to Get Shiny Espurr in Pokemon GO

If Lovecraft wrote creepypasta I'm pretty sure he would have come up with Espurr

Do you like Pokemon with wide, unblinking eyes that straddle the lines between adorable and creepy? Yeah, me too. And you know who embodies that the best? Espurr! And it only gets cuter when it’s shiny, with its slate coloring turning into a pastel pink. Here’s how to get Shiny Espurr in Pokemon GO.

Espurr is a Psychic Pokemon capable of evolving into an equally adorable Psychic cat, whose appearance changes depending on Espurr’s gender. And yes, the evolved forms are equally cute, as Meowstic takes on Primadonna blonde accents that would make it perfect for any contest hall.

But how do you get a Shiny Espurr in Pokemon GO?

Unfortunately, outside of events, all you can do is hope to find it in 10 km eggs or catch it during a 1-Star Raid. And raids are truly the best way of finding Shiny Espurr. Not only are these raids easy to handle by yourself, but you can also find Espurr far more consistently.

Espurr will be appearing as a 1-Star Raid boss as part of the Festival of Color, which will begin on March 8, 10:00 AM to March 14, 10:00 AM local time. During this time, anyone who wants their pastel pink Espurr should keep their eyes on the Raid tracker and check any Espurr raids in case there’s a Shiny one in your area.

But Espurr will be competing with the limelight with Rockruff, Mareanie, and Bruxish in 1-Star Raids, so you might have to be patient.

Once you have Espurr on your team, you might wonder if it’s worth evolving into Meowstic and bringing it into PvP. Well, female Mewostic fares a little better than its male counterpart in the Great Leagues, but not by much, and they’re both about middle of the pack.

You can likely find better pure Psychic type Pokemon to incorporate into your team, but you’re not signing yourself up for an immediate loss either.

Good luck getting a Shiny Espurr! And while you’re at it, here’s how to get ready for Shiny Smeargle.
