Earning the Unique items you want can be frustrating in Last Epoch, and Runes of Ascendance can help you save some time. If you haven’t had any luck with these rare crafting materials, I’ll go over where you can find them.

How to Farm Runes of Ascendance in Last Epoch

The best way to get Runes of Ascendance is to grind through Monoliths of Fate. There is a chance for one of these to drop from nearly anything in the game, but the Monoliths offer you areas with a high enemy density and plenty of rewards for each Echo you conquer. After reaching level 50, you should easily be able to grind the first Monolith tier without worrying about constant death in Last Epoch.

When I earned my first Rune of Ascendance, it was from killing a standard enemy in a Chapter 7 campaign mission. As you get further into the main campaign and your level increases, the odds of a rare rune will continue to increase. So don’t expect any Ascendance items to drop unless you get incredibly lucky. That’s why it’s in your best interest to start farming for them in Monoliths or the Lighthouse Arbor.

How to Use Runes of Ascendance in Last Epoch.

Open up the Forge with “F” and open the rune slot to select the Rune of Ascendance for any desired piece of equipment. You can always add a Glyph and a Shard upgrade, but the main focus here is the Rune slot. Add the Ascendance version from your crafting inventory and use it for a chance to turn a Legendary item into something with a Unique rarity. With any luck, you can get the one you need.
