They are used to rank up your other areas in the midgame, but you’ll have to unlock several things before unlocking Orichalcum Bars. Where to Get Orichalcum Bars in Path of Exile 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur

To get Orichalcum Bars, you need to unlock Smelting and farm some Orichalcum Ores. You can read up our guide on smelting ores to get you started. Once you have the Smelter unlocked, you can start smelting Crimson Iron and Orichalcum Ores at rank 1.

You need to recruit some workers who specialize in Smelting and assign them to the Smelter. Once you have recruited the workers, go to the smelting area and interact with the board. You’ll see some anvil icons and you can hover each one of them. Look for the Orichalcum Bars and assign workers to it. Once there are workers assigned, you’ll start getting Orichalcum Bars.

Note: if you don’t have Orichalcum Ores, these workers will stay idle even when assigned.

It does not increase the currency reward, but rather, it increases the rarity of the armor and weapons.
