Getting married in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar is one of the most challenging yet most satisfying things to achieve in the game.
Like all relationships, it takes a lot of give and take; you give them gifts, and they take them. You are going to need a lot of gifts, though, so here’s a complete guide on how to get married in SoS: Grand Bazaar.
Complete Marriage Guide in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

To make this as simple as possible, you’ll need to increase your relationship with the bachelors and bachelorettes in Zephyr Town. Each eligible bachelor and bachelorette has a corresponding color, indicating their “relationship level” with you. These are all seen in the Resident Info tab when you open the game menu.
From experience, the color changes when you get a scene or a request from them. To expound on this, each bachelor or bachelorette has exclusive stories to experience, and once you reach a certain level, their relationship meter will lock, signifying that there’s an upcoming cutscene or request from them. This always comes the next day, so give it some time.
You’ll hear a sort of chime when it locks after talking to them, giving them gifts, or going to an event with them, which are the three main ways to develop your relationship with characters in the game.
If you want to learn more about gift ideas, here’s a guide on each character’s likes and dislikes in SoS: Grand Bazaar. This guide will focus primarily on the mechanics of marriage.
Upon reaching six hearts with any of the bachelors and bachelorettes, you’ll always get a cutscene after.

The cutscene will always show them confessing their feelings, but also beating around the bush, making you decide if you want to date them or only see them as a friend. The options are:
- I’ve fallen in love with you.
- You’re a great friend.
If you choose “I’ve fallen in love with you,” you’ll start dating and change how you interact with each other in the game. You’ll also get a memento from them by mail the next day.
If you choose “You’re a great friend,” things will stay as they are, but you’ll still receive a memento from them.
It is also worth noting that if you are already married at this point, this option will no longer appear. You’ll still get the mementos from them when you reach this relationship milestone, but that’s it.
However, if you aren’t married and you are already “dating” someone, this option will still appear, weirdly enough. Yup, it looks like you can date multiple characters, but more on this later.

You’ll also want to upgrade your bed to a Double Bed from Wilbur’s stall at the bazaar. This “unlocks” the potential to have someone else live with you.
When you reach eight hearts with someone you are dating, you’ll wake up one day with Sonia and Stuart telling you about the Zehpyr Town’s tradition of proposing with a blue feather.
They’ll outright give you the blue feather, so there are no additional challenges here. You’ll receive the Blue Feather, which you can give to your loved one and propose on the spot.

From my playthrough, I proposed immediately, and she said yes. So, you don’t need to max out the relationship levels to get married, as far as I can tell.
This is how my playthrough went, but there could be a coincidence here. I received the Blue Feather in Autumn 15 (2nd year). If you received the Blue Feather at this time without increasing any relationship level to eight, it could be that marriage is time-gated instead of reaching a specific relationship level. Let us know down in the comments if you received the feather under different conditions?
When you propose, both of you will still start planning, and the wedding should take place next week. The proposal day will also feature a lengthy cutscene, consuming most of your day.

For the wedding day, you’ll get a cutscene with everyone in Zephyr Town in attendance. Once it is over, you’ll start life with your spouse on your farm.

After getting married, you’ll immediately get the Wedding Rings memento, which you can display on your shelf. Being married doesn’t change much, but it’s nice to have someone to interact with all the time.
You’ll even see cute responses, like your spouse asking you if today is their birthday or anniversary. These experiences are mostly from marrying Freya, so things could be different for other spouses.
Your spouse doesn’t do much but admire some of the furniture. They won’t take care of your crops, pets, or animals, but they will do their own thing.
They’ll eat breakfast at the table, cooking their own food. You’ll see them go to work and everything else you normally see them do.

How to Have a Baby in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

Here’s how to start a family in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. When you interact with your spouse, you’ll get hints about starting a family together.
They’ll eventually want to do this, but they also want to enjoy the time together first, just the two of you. Before anything happens, you’ll still need one last upgrade.

After getting married, you’ll want to wait for the next bazaar and talk to Wilbur. He’ll have another bed upgrade called the Deluxe Bed Upgrade for 50,000G.
Once the upgrade is done, you’ll still have to wait until you are both ready.
The hints will start to change over time. When they start saying, “Let’s be patient. It’ll happen when it happens,” you are getting closer.

However, after waiting for over three seasons, it still wasn’t happening. Once I got Freya to nine hearts, a cutscene followed the night after. Both of you will be greeted by the Happy Sprites overnight, telling you there’s a baby on the way.
You’ll wake up the next morning, talking about your crazy dream, but it turns out, it wasn’t crazy at all. From here, the baby is on its way.

I waited for over 3 weeks, but nothing was happening. I thought it would be the tenth and final heart, but you’ll just wake up one morning with a cutscene, and the baby will have arrived.
You’ll be asked for a name, and also give the child a name by which to call you, which I found odd, but this is probably for when they grow up or start talking.
There you have it. That’s how you start a family in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar!
