As a quick note, the likes come from the journal entries in the game. It shows the notes like “beautiful things, red,” but it isn’t exactly one or the other; it is a combination of both. For example, Arata likes “hearty meals, blue things,” but you cannot just give him blue flowers. He likes fish dishes, which are actually in line with his requests, giving you a clue of what he likes.

It is some combination of the two likes listed on their profiles. There is still some overlap where they’ll just accept one thing. For example, June likes “dessert or tea, blue,” but she also loves receiving Baby Blue Flowers, which only fall under the “blue” category.
