How to Get Jirachi in Pokemon GO

When you wish upon a star...

by Daphne Fama

One of the rarest Pokemon in Pokemon GO is, without a doubt, the Wish Pokemon Jirachi. This Legendary Pokemon is notorious for being gated behind paid events or Special Research quests, only to vanish for months at a time. That almost makes it true to canon, considering Jirachi has a habit of slumbering for 1,000 years at a time. But for a brief time, you can make this Pokemon yours. Here’s how to get Jirachi in Pokemon GO.

Jirachi will be part of the Pokemon GO Tour: Hoenn edition. This special event will be hosted in Las Vegas, and not only will you have a chance to obtain Jirachi, you can get Shiny Jirachi in Pokemon GO for the first time.

The official site for the GO Tour states, “ticket-holding trainers in Las Vegas will be able to access Masterwork Research and have the first chance to encounter Shiny Jirachi!”. This event will be hosted from February 18 to February 19, 2023.

But if Las Vegas is a little too far to travel for you, don’t despair. You can still get Jirachi! You’ll just need to cough up $5 to do it.

From February 25, 10 AM to February 26, 6 PM, you’ll be able to take part in the Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn – Global. Yep, from the comfort of your own city, you still participate in a small portion of what Poke’fanatics will get in Las Vegas. And that includes Masterwork Research: Wish Granted. This special quest line requires trainers to take on difficult challenges and daunting tasks to catch Shiny Jirachi.

If that’s something you’re up for, you can buy tickets in the in-game shop for $4.99 on Monday, February 20, 2023. But expect to pay real cash – Pokecoins won’t be accepted.
