How to Get Infinite Knife Durability in Resident Evil 4 Remake

For when things get a little dicey.

While weapons having limited ammunition makes sense, Resident Evil 4 Remake makes the rather unusual choice of giving your melee weapon durability. This may not sound like too big of an issue on paper, but when you consider that the knife is used for all things from fending off grabbing enemies to executing enemies about to transform, having a knife with ample durability is helpful. It is possible to remove this issue entirely, but it’s quite the process. Here’s how to get infinite knife durability in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

To get a knife with infinite durability in Resident Evil 4 Remake is going to be quite a process. You shouldn’t expect to get it until at least a second playthrough, just to set expectations right. To kick things off, the first thing you want to do is find all 16 Clockwork Castellans (wind-up dolls). They’re scattered throughout the game, so you’ll need to check every nook and listen for the little wind-up sound if you want to destroy all of them. Once you’ve finally taken all of them out, a new knife called the Primal Knife will appear in the Extra Content Shop.

Purchase that knife, and you’ll find it inside the next typewriter’s storage. You aren’t done yet, though. To make this knife have infinite durability, you’ll need to unlock its exclusive upgrade. This can either be done through the Exclusive Upgrade Ticket available in the Merchant’s shop or by leveling up every other stat of the Primal Knife to the max. Do this, and you’ll have infinite durability on the knife.
