How to Get Early Access to Remnant 2

Should you pay a little extra to start slaying early?

Remnant 2 is right around the corner, and for fans of the soulslike genre, it’s likely to be one they’re excited for. There are a lot of shovelware soulslikes out there that fail to capture the magic of games like Dark Souls, though the first Remnant was far from that, with its niche carved out for itself beautifully. Remnant 2 looks to follow suit, as least if early gameplay reveals are to be believed. If you’re one of those excited about it, you may be wondering if there’s a way you can play the game early. Here’s how to get early access to Remnant 2.

How Do I Play Remnant 2 Early?

If you’re wanting to get into Remnant as soon as possible, there is only one method that’ll get you in sooner than the July 25 release date. That way is to purchase the Ultimate Edition of the game. This comes with three future DLC packs the game will be releasing, some resources to get you started when playing, and outfits inspired by Remnant: From the Ashes, but will also score you access to the game three days early on July 22. If this is something that interests you, you’ll need to fork over around $20 more than you would pay for the base game at retail, totaling $69.99.

Should You Pay the Extra to Get Early Access?

If this is your most hyped game of 2023 then go for it, though I’d generally advise against buying into a few days of early access for any game. Steam games that are early access for months or years at a time are an obvious exception, but paying a considerable amount more to get the game a few days early is something you’ll just end up forgetting about in a month anyway. It’s better to be patient and wait for the game to release fully instead. Again though, if you’re that excited about the game, maybe that sounds appealing.
