How to Get Dragon Teeth in Stardew Valley

Dragon Teeth are hard to find, but not impossible!

Dragon Teeth are one of the rarest items in Stardew Valley. Not only are they locked behind a late-game area, but they are also in one of the most dangerous locations in the game, and there is only a slight chance you will find one there at all. If you want to know where to find this rare and elusive item in Stardew Valley, you will find everything you need to know here in this Dragon Tooth guide.

Where to Find a Dragon Tooth in Stardew Valley

You can find Dragon Teeth around Dragon Fossils or by killing Lava Lurks in the Volcano Dungeon, which is a Mine-like area on Ginger Island. Ginger Island is a late-game area you will access after completing all bundles in the Community Center or by purchasing all of the Joja upgrades in town. You will then need to give Willy 200x Hardwood, 5x Iridium Bars, and 5x Lightning Rods to fix up his boat so he can sail you safely across the waters to Ginger Island.

Once you set foot on the shores of Ginger Island, you will only have access to the east side, which means you can’t rush into the Volcano Dungeon straight away. You will have to find some Golden Walnuts first. Golden Walnuts are a type of currency unique to Ginger Island. You can find these Golden Walnuts almost everywhere on Ginger Island, but if you are looking for some quickly, check around the bushes in the Jungle area and do some fishing at the Beach. You can find five Golden Walnuts by fishing in the waters around the island.

Thankfully, it only takes 1 of the 130 Golden Walnuts on Ginger Island to unlock the northern area where you will find the Volcano Dungeon.

Where to Find Dragon Fossils in Stardew Valley

Unfortunately, unlocking the northern side of the island to get access to the Volcano Dungeon is the easy part. Actually finding a Dragon Fossil is even more of a challenge, mainly because it is out of your control. To begin your search, travel up to the northernmost point of the Island, where you will find a large Volcano. Head in to find the Volcano Dungeon.

You will require your Watering Can for this quest, along with your usual mining and combat gear. The entrance to the dungeon lies beyond a river of lava. Watering the lava with your Watering Can cools it down enough so you can cross the river and enter the dungeon.

After you enter the Volcano Dungeon, start looking out for Lava Lurks and Dragon Fossils. Lava Lurks are pesky enemies that swim around in the lava, shooting fireballs at you as you pass by. You can lure them to the edge of the lava and hit them with a melee weapon or hit them with a slingshot if they are out of reach. The loot from Lava Lurks will appear in your bag automatically, so you don’t lose your precious items in the fiery pits of the dungeon.

Lava Lurks are difficult to kill, but Dragon Fossils are even more difficult to find. There are ten floors in Volcano Dungeon, each of which has a slight chance of having a Dragon Fossil on it. And even if the floor does have a Dragon Fossil, there is no guarantee that you will find a Dragon Tooth there. You might have to complete the dungeon quite a few times to find a Dragon Fossil with Teeth, but rest assured that you will, eventually.

When you do happen across a Dragon Fossil, search the area surrounding it for purple teeth poking up out of the ground. Pick one up to collect an elusive Dragon Tooth!

The Volcano Dungeon is a dangerous place filled with powerful monsters. The best way to tackle the challenges that will face you there is to make sure you have an excellent weapon on hand. If you don’t, check out our Meowmere Sword and Galaxy Sword guides to make sure you have the best chance in the Volcano Dungeon.
