How to Get Cut Amber in LEGO Fortnite

Time for rare tools

After conquering the Grasslands biome in LEGO Fortnite, it’s time to start looking toward rare tools, and that means collecting some Cut Amber. You will need to find a specific biome for this gem, and I have a full outline for you in this guide.

Where to Find Rough Amber in LEGO Fortnite

You can get Rough Amber on the black pillars scattered around the Dry Valley biome. As the name suggests, the Dry Valley serves as the desert-themed biome of LEGO Fortnite. You won’t be able to harvest the Flexwood here without a better axe, but the good news is that the gems can be harvested with a common pickaxe.

Rough Amber looks like golden gems that spawn in clusters on the black rock formations in the desert. Some of the black rocks are massive pillars, and others are small platforms on the side of a hill that you can jump onto. In most cases, though, you will need to build some stairs to reach the top of the pillars to access the Amber.

Mining the Rough Amber with a common pickaxe will take longer and will quickly deteriorate the tool, but it gets the job done. I recommend trying to mine at least one stack of 30 Rough Amber before you head back to the village for some upgrades.

How to Get Cut Amber in LEGO Fortnite

You need to place some Rough Amber into a Gem Cutter machine to get Cut Amber. The recipe to craft a Gem Cutter will be unlocked as soon as you pick up the rough version of the gem for the first time in the Dry Valley. Like any other machine in your village, you simply need to place the Amber inside and wait for it to be refined.

After a few seconds, the final product is Cut Amber. You can take the new material to a Crafting Bench for a rare Forest Axe. With the blue version of the axe, it’s time to head back to the Dry Valley biome in LEGO Fortnite to farm some Flexwood.

If you’re still behind on your upgrades, make sure to start collecting Knotroot as soon as possible.
