"If you hear a noise in the dark, shoot first." —Centurion Tuk'rin

There is such satisfaction in making things go boom. Rocket launchers are the pinnacle of big boom weapons, capable of obliterating mobs and chunks of boss health bars in a single shot. But not all rocket launchers are made equal. Some are simply better. And this is the case for Bump in the Night. Here’s how to get Bump in the Night and its God Roll in Destiny 2.

How to Get Bump in the Night and its God Roll in Destiny 2

Bump in the Night is an Aggressive-Frame Legendary Stasis Rocket Launcher that was released during the Season of the Haunted. And since then, it’s defined itself as one of the better options, especially if you have an Exotic you want to use on your Kinetic or Energy slot.

But as of 2023, getting Bump in the Night is harder than ever. Originally part of the Season of the Haunted, Bump in the Night was once obtainable by completing Nightmare Containments on the Derelict Leviathan. But with the Derelict Leviathan retired as a location, you might be wondering where else to get it.

As of March 2023, it seems the only possible way to get your hands on this rocket launcher is to wait for Xur to sell it. Every week, Xur sells a series of Legendary armor pieces and weapons, which include weapons that are otherwise obtainable or extremely difficult to get.

Unfortunately, these weapons don’t come with random rolls, which means you’ll be stuck with whatever Xur hands you.

Bump in the Night has enough decent perks that this isn’t a huge deal breaker, but there’s a particular roll you’ll want to have your eyes open for.

God Roll for Bump in the Night

Bump in the Night, as you might expect for an Aggressive Frame rocket launcher without tracking, is better in PvE than PvP. In fact, Bump in the Night can even be better than a God Rolled Palmyra-B, so long as your target is stationary, like a boss.

With that in mind, the best God Roll (especially as a Starfire Protocol Warlock) is:

  • Basic Launcher Barrel → Quick Launch. +10 Velocity, +15 Handling.
  • Basic Magazine → Impact Casing. +10 Stability.
  • Basic Trait 1 → Demolitionist. Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves.
  • Basic Trait 2 → Chill Clip. Direct hits with the top half of the magazine cause a detonation that slows nearby targets. While above 50% of the magazine, direct hits cause a Stasis burst, which applies 50 Slow for 4 seconds to enemies within 4 meters.

It’s likely that Bump in the Night will re-enter the loot pool soon, making it much easier to craft and refine. Until then, why not check out how to get another rare weapon? Here’s how to get the Throne-Cleaver and its God Roll in Destiny 2.
