Where to Find Adhesive in Starfield

There are three ways to get adhesives in Starfield:

  • Buy from vendors.
  • Search the environment and hostile ships.
  • Loot from enemies.

Searching store vendors such as Jemison Mercantile in New Atlantis is the easiest way to find adhesives. However, most regular commercial shops in the major settlements will work. As long as you visit a general store like Shepherd’s in Akila City, the Trade Authority, or shops that sell crafting resources, you can buy adhesive wherever you’d like.

As you search the shop, go into the “Resources’ section” and search the list for adhesive. If it isn’t there, wait on a bench or sleep for 24 in-game hours before rechecking the store. Repeat the process until you see some adhesives.

The quantity in stock will differ daily, so make sure to buy as much as you need, just in case the shop has fewer units available the next time you visit. Also, while one adhesive is inexpensive, the price will increase as you buy more, so make sure you have plenty of spare credits.

More specifically, the average adhesive price is around 10 to 11 credits per unit, with shops usually having roughly a dozen adhesive available.

If you prefer to avoid spending money at shops, you can also find resources as you explore planets and spaceships. While finding exact spawn locations is tricky, making it a habit to pick up as many materials throughout your travels as possible will help you stockpile necessary items for research projects and crafting.

Searching Planets, Enemies, and Storage Containers

Another way to get adhesive in Starfield is to explore planets and scan plants. You can get various organic resources from flora, with adhesive and sealant being one of the available options. Once you reach 25 percent on a plant, you’ll see what type of material it gives; if it is adhesive, harvest that plant whenever you see it.

If you want to take things a step further, you can invest in Scavenging rank four to unlock track resource highlighting in your hand scanner. You can also invest in skills like Botany and Zoology to get more rare organic resources from plants and creatures, respectively.

Searching enemy bodies can also net you some decent loot, but since the rewards are randomized, you’ll have to rely on luck to find what you need. You can also occasionally find adhesive in storage containers, but this is also luck-based.

Best Way to Farm Adhesive in Starfield

If you plan on gathering a large quantity of adhesive quickly, buying from merchants and resetting their timers by waiting for 24 hours is the best way to farm Adhesive. To do this:

  1. Buy all the adhesive in stock at a general store before waiting on a bench.
  2. Recheck the list after the time is up to see if the adhesive reappears.
  3. If it does, buy them all and repeat the process; otherwise, wait again and search the list, or hop to another shop.

Within a few minutes, you’ll get dozens of adhesives relatively quickly.

What Is Adhesive Used for in Starfield?

Adhesive is a rare organic resource used in crafting and research. In particular, you’ll encounter it while researching various Outpost Development and Weaponry projects, with numerous weapons throughout the game requiring adhesives to craft. Nearly every gun we own needs it for at least one mod.

As you create more weapon mods and unlock research projects, adhesive will appear more frequently as a required material. Be sure to stock up as often as possible so you always have some on hand when needed. If you plan on upgrading weapons in the future, you’ll need as much as you can get.
