How To Fix the Lost Records Bloom & Rage Ultrawide Issue on PC

Rose to the rescue!

DON’T NOD is back with another Unreal Engine 5 release that makes great use of the engine for pleasing visuals across the board. It’s a bit on the demanding side, however, but players can improve performance with DLSS and FSR. However, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage doesn’t have ultrawide support.

The developers were upfront about this before launch, but thankfully, Rose from the widescreen community has already released a patch to address the lack of ultrawide support in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

Adding Ultrawide Support to Lost Records Bloom & Rage

The patch by Rose adds ultrawide support to Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and removes black bars from the gameplay and cutscenes.

Installing the patch is a pretty simple process:

  • Head over to the following GitHub link
  • Download the patch file by clicking the Lost.Records.ultrawide.v1.0.zip under Assets
  • Extract the zip file in the following directory where Lost Records Bloom & Rage is installed:
\UNI\Binaries\Win64

Once extracted, launch Lost Records Bloom & Rage, and the black bars will be removed from the presentation in both cutscenes and gameplay. Here is a screenshot provided by Rose which shows a cutscene with the patch installed:

All credits go to Rose for creating and testing the patch at 2560×1080 and 3840×1080. You can learn about their work on their Patreon or BuyMeACoffee pages.

As of writing, there are no known issues with the patch. You might see a few awkward scene compositions because the game wasn’t designed with ultrawide in mind, but it shouldn’t be too bad. To remove the patch, you can simply delete the files. Rose might release a newer version on their Github but this patch should be more than okay.

We doubt that ultrawide support will be added later on, as the developers haven’t hinted at that. Overall this is a solid PC port, but it does lack the extra customization we’d expect from a modern title. If you want to further improve your experience, here is how you can disable chromatic aberration, depth of field, and film grain in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.
