Destiny 2 is an always-online experience, and sometimes this means encountering errors that aren’t your fault. It can be frustrating when you’re just trying to enjoy your favorite game and have trouble connecting. We’re here to help alleviate that. Here’s how to fix the Cat error code in Destiny 2.
How to Fix Error Code Cat in Destiny 2
According to the official Bungie Help website, the Cat error code reads as follows:
“A new update to Destiny is available. If you are seeing this error the first time you launch Destiny, please exit the game and apply the update before relaunching.”
If you’re running into this, ensure your game is up to date. As Destiny 2 has constant patches and updates, it’s important to ensure the client is up to date. The game will not let you connect if you are not on the most current version.
Bungie often does server maintenance on Wednesdays, so if it’s a Wednesday, chances are this is a server-side issue.
As always, check the official Bungie Help Twitter account for more information.
