How to Fix Compiling Shaders Stuck Error in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Nothing like issues right as you launch a new game.

If you’re playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC, you’ll likely run into a Compiling Shaders message when you first launch. Here’s how to fix the Compiling Shaders stuck error in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

If you’ve found yourself on Compiling Shaders for a long time without the bar at the bottom of the screen moving for a while now, you’re safe to restart Dragon’s Dogma 2. Something’s likely happened on the launch’s end that’s caused the Compiling Shaders feature to hang, so keeping it open any longer is a waste of time. Ideally, that bug shouldn’t happen again when you compile shaders again.

However, if the issue is persisting, then there are a few other things you can try. Restarting your PC outright is a good option for example, since it’s possibly something to do with how your last boot of your system went. It would also help to fully update your GPU drivers since newer drivers may be better optimized for the game. To do this, you’ll need to head to your GPU manufacturer’s website (Nvidia, AMD, or Intel) and install the latest drivers.

If none of the above methods work for you, then the best option next is to verify your game files. This is done through right-clicking Dragon’s Dogma 2 in your Steam Library, selecting Properties, going to the Installed Files tab, and clicking “Verify integrity of game files”. Once that’s finished, you’re safe to launch again. You can also reinstall the game if you feel safer doing that.

If none of the above works, then it could be a bug with the game itself that you’ll need to wait for Capcom to resolve. That is a frustrating outcome after everything above, but given that, rarely, all those options don’t work, it should be uncommon and hopefully fixed soon.
