How to Finish Until Dawn in Escape from Tarkov

The hooded one!

The Until Dawn quest is the last quest in Escape from Tarkov’s Halloween event in 2024. It is one of the hardest quests, but only because it is extremely repetitive, similar to the Killa quest, the Stylish One. However, even if it is that grindy, there are players who want awesome rewards, including expensive keys and permanent barter unlocks. These rewards are enough to entice players to finish the quest, not to mention the loot you get from finishing the raids and having fun with all the action. Here’s how to finish the Until Dawn quest in Escape from Tarkov.

How to Complete the Until Dawn Quest in Escape from Tarkov

To finish the Until Dawn task, you must finish the following objectives:

  • Eliminate 15 hooded night people on Ground Zero
  • Eliminate 15 hooded night people on Lighthouse
  • Eliminate 15 hooded night people on Shoreline
  • Eliminate 15 hooded night people on Streets of Tarkov
  • Eliminate 15 hooded night people on Woods
  • Eliminate 15 hooded night people on Customs
  • Eliminate 15 hooded night people on night-time Factory

That is a long list of objectives and it’ll take hours to finish each one of these objectives. To start your long journey to finish the Until Dawn quest, you must familiarize yourself with all the maps and where they spawn.

MapLocationStrategy
Ground ZeroTerragroup Building and the main streetTechnically, cultists spawn on any Scav spawn on the map, meaning you can expect the cultist to be anywhere. The strategy is to go to the Terragroup building since there are several Scav spawns here and extract near the V-Ex if they didn’t spawn.
LighthouseVillage, Chalet, and Water Treatment Building #2Go to each location, and if your spawn is far from the other locations, you can extract and reset. The Priest and Harbinger may spawn on Lighthouse and it is likely that they will spawn in every raid. You still have the option to check every spot, depending on your risk aversion.
ShorelineResort, abandoned village (swamp), Weather StationThe same strategy as Lighthouse since both Priest and Harbinger may spawn. You may want to avoid Resort at times if you spawned far away, since it is always a hot spot and being last gives you a massive disadvantage.
Streets of TarkovResidential Area (Zmejskij alley) Streets of Tarkov is an extremely dangerous map, especially when it is dark. There are so many open spots in the residential area, but your main strategy should revolve around circling the backyard (playground) and clearing the whole outside until you see the cultists.
WoodsNorthwest Scav BunkerWhile the Woods would want some mid-range or long-range weapon, a close-range weapon would be preferred if you are rushing the bunker near the Scav bridge all the time. Avoid the ponds and stay close to the bushes to avoid other players from spotting you.
CustomsStrongholdBoth the Priest and Harbinger have the same spawn in the Stronghold. You want a quick in-and-out strategy and if they aren’t there, head to the closest extraction. Use the slope near the construction area to get cover while approaching the Stronghold. It gives you time to get closer while having some cover.
FactoryEverywhereThere isn’t really a strategy for Factory other than to play well. It is the most PvP-focused map and expect to fight a lot of players rather than cultists.

Note: All raids should be between 22:00 and 7:00, as cultists only spawn at these raid times.

If you want more information on the boss’s and cultists’ spawn rates, you can check out this guide.

Since you are going to be needing 15 hooded men kills on each of these maps, it is up to you on which ones you want to finish or if you want to mix it up and rotate the maps. You can even transit from one map to another as long as the time is still between 22:00 and 7:00, so you don’t have to go through loadouts or go to a farther extraction point.

Until Dawn Quest Rewards in Escape from Tarkov

Until Dawn has the following rewards:

You also unlock the following barters from Jaeger:
