The 3.0 update for Animal Crossing New Horizons has arrived, bringing with it some exciting new changes to island life. One of the bigger additions is the arrival of Resetti and his useful Reset Service.

Resetti is a very helpful character to know when you’re trying to work on decorating your island, as he has a unique service that can be used to quickly clean up as needed. He’s a bit of a tricky guy to find, though, so here’s how to find Resetti and use his Reset Service in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

You can find Resetti wandering around your island randomly after installing the 3.0 update for Animal Crossing New Horizons. His behavior is very similar to that of other NPCs who visit your island, like Flick and Saharah, which means there’s no way to know exactly where he’ll spawn and where he’ll be walking around.

For me, Resetti was near the northwest corner of my island. He stuck to the beach area only, but he’ll likely be somewhere else for you. This means you’ll need to carefully search every inch of your island to find and meet him. Be sure to also check behind all houses and buildings, like the museum and resident services, as he could be lurking behind any of them.

You can use Resetti’s Reset Service by talking to him or Isabelle to summon him and activate this process. When you do, Resetti will present you with several different options to choose from. Each one will help you clean up your island in a different way.

  • If you select the “I’ll pick the area” option, Resetti will give you a transceiver. You can then wander around your island to find and pinpoint the area you want to clean up. Once you find the right spot, you can then use this item from your inventory to summon Resetti and get the process started. As soon as you activate the transceiver, an outlined area will be marked so you can then decide if the highlighted region is the right spot to reset. If not, you can back out and move around until you get it right.
  • If you select the “Just the beach” option, Resetti will only clear the beaches around your island.
  • If you select “The entire island” option, Resetti will get to work cleaning up your full island.

After selecting any of the available options, Resetti will appear to ask you some follow-up questions depending on what type of items are in the area you wish to reset. If there are flowers, for example, he’ll ask whether you want to store or dispose of them.

Resetti’s Reset Service is available to use most of the time, but during festivals and other such special events, you cannot summon him to use this service. This is likely because parts of the island are decorated or being used for the event.

Outside of events, you can summon him whenever you like. He double-checks before you make any big decisions, too, so don’t worry too much about accidentally clearing a space you didn’t mean to mess with.
