The Freeman’s Lost Treasure Investigation is unlocked by bribing pirates hanging out in the Sainte-Anne starting area. These pirates are marked on the map with a purple icon labeled as Rumor and will talk to you by bribing them with a small amount of Silver.

This will unlock the Freeman’s Lost Treasure section under the Investigations menu in the Knowledge tab. Bribing these pirates for the first time will also unlock the first Investigation under the Freeman’s Lost Treasure sub-tree called Turning the Page.

How to Find Freeman’s Lost Treasure in Skull and Bones

Freeman’s Lost Treasure cannot be found until players complete all seven Investigations listed in the Investigations menu. That is because completing each Investigation will provide more clues as to where the treasure will be. Here are all seven Investigations that need to be completed and the locations where each can be started from:

  • A Legacy of Madness – Telok Penjarah, East Indies
  • Ambush – Western Basin, Coast of Africa
  • Fall of Lanitra – Sainte-Anne, Red Isle
  • Grave News – Oosten Capital, East Indies
  • Hunt for the Crown of Ukuta – Great Ukuta, Coast of Africa
  • Mentari of the Unbound – Pemburu Islands, East Indies
  • Turning the Page – Sainte-Anne, Red Isle

Some Investigations can be found by bribing pirates and picking up specific notes, though others cannot be unlocked until major story missions have been completed. Freeman’s Lost Treasure is an Investigation that will be completed over time.

Once all Investigations have been completed, check the journal for all the clues that are now unlocked. It will point players to the Bukit Candi Outpost, located in the East Indies north of the Telok Penjara location.

The Freeman’s Lost Treasure is the last step of seven Investigations. Some of them start in Sainte-Anne, the Red Isle, or Telok Penjarah. Once they’re all completed, all you need to do is head to the final spot and obtain your rewards.
